Usa – Italia: gli auguri Mattarella a Biden per l’Independence Day

in News by

U.S.: truck hits LGBT parade in Florida, at least one dead

in News by

The driver of a pickup truck ran over several people gathered for a gay pride parade in the United States yesterday, killing at least one man. This is reported by the US media.

The incident, which is not yet known if it was a deliberate assault, happened at the beginning of the lgbtq parade in the town of Wilton Manors, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale.

The driver of the vehicle was stopped and arrested and then by police. The vehicle had lined up with the participating floats, but then accelerated and struck several people.

At least one man died, Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, who was present at the parade, told Local 10 News. According to him, the van was actually aiming at Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s car, which was in a convertible, but narrowly missed her. “This is a terrorist attack on the lgbt community,” Trantalis said, “This is not an accident at all. It was intentional, premeditated and was targeted at a specific person.”
