Ema response expected on J&J thrombosis cases
On 20 April, the EMA will announce the results of its assessment of the Covid-19 Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine regarding cases of thromboembolic events. The EU agency has called a press conference for 5pm.
It is “likely” that the European Union will not renew its Covid vaccine contracts with the pharmaceutical group AstraZeneca: this was indicated today by the French Minister for Industry, Agnès Pannier-Rinacher.
“The decision has not yet been taken“, but after Denmark’s choice on Wednesday to abandon the vaccine, there is “the greatest probability” that Europe will not place new orders, she said.
“Negotiations continue with the company for the Novavax vaccine, we will keep you informed when a contract is concluded.” This was said by one of the European Commission’s spokesmen.
