Covid, US researcher finds first deleted virus sequences

in News by

New twist in the search for the origins of SarsCov2: an American researcher, Jesse Bloom of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, has identified data containing sequences of the SarsCov2 virus dating back to the beginning of the epidemic in Wuhan, deliberately removed from the archive of the sequences of the American National Institute of Health.

The researcher, as we read on Biorxiv (which collects articles not yet screened by the scientific community) and also on the website of the journal Science, recovered the deleted files from Google Cloud and reconstructed the partial sequences of 13 viruses from the early days of the epidemic.

Covid, ricercatore Usa trova prime sequenze virus cancellate
